Once a St Mary's girl - Always a St Mary's girl!A Message from Greg Elliott - acting principal for 2009.Dear Marians, We want you to add your details to our alumni database. Already 6000 ex-students have let us know where they are and what they're up to. We'd love to hear from you. Please click here to register. This year at the College we have continued in working hard for social justice in supporting charities and assisting in practical ways those who cannot protect themselves. The girls have many conflicting values being given to them by the media and merchandising. They can be easily caught up in the superficial world in which the value of doing the best is replaced by the value of ‘looking’ the best.At the College, the traditions of the Sisters of Good Samaritan, which values each person and helps her to attain the ‘higher things’ she is born to, is being maintained. The latest HSC results again reflect good teaching and a high academic standard. Our girls are competing at the highest level in sport most recently finishing 4th in the national basketball championships. These are all things to be celebrated. We take every opportunity to acknowledge and celebrate the girls reaching their goals. The final simple words should come from St Benedict who has touched the hearts and inspired the minds of religious and lay for 1500 years. He wrote in his rule “The strong will have something to strive for and the weak nothing to run from.” When we look to the magnificent future of this College, may we always do it with these words ringing in our ears." Mr Greg Elliott You are still an important part of your College St Mary’s has a tradition of over 135 years of excellence in the education of young women. We look to your assistance in the development of a strong association of ex-students, which will connect with the ex-student events. As well, you are invited to share our vision of the development of the College by contributing to a variety of worthwhile projects. Whether great or small, every gift is welcome.
