America Dance Tour 2011
Last holidays, whilst some of you were chilling around the house or seeing friends, 17 students from Years 10, 11 and 12, as well as two teachers, jet-setted to the USA. We left Sydney on 24 June, and odd as it seems, arrived that very same day in Los Angeles.

Our hotel in Anaheim was across the road from Disneyland! We had a hard life… spending our days going on rides, shopping at the outlets, performing in Disneyland and California Adventure Park, watching the fireworks from our spa and, did I mention, shopping? We did a dance workshop at
The Edge which overlooked the Hollywood sign, went to the Hollywood Bowl and got the opportunity to do the walk of fame, seeing the red carpet being set up for a premiere at Mann’s Chinese Theatre. We also had a day at San Diego Zoo and went on the famous Hollywood back lot tour at Universal Studios, seeing the sets from Desperate Housewives and NCIS.
San Francisco was a city filled with beautiful architectural vintage homes, fantastic cuisine and the very steep hills. Here we met our tour guide Fran - she took us to see the steepest winding street in the world, the Golden Gate Bridge and Alcatraz! We ended our stay in San Francisco with the 4th of July Fireworks down at the wharf.
Our final destination was HAWAII where we danced at the Ala Moana Shopping Centre, took a Hula class, went to the markets and went snorkeling. Our final day was spent swimming by the pool, shopping and having our last meal as a family. We all made such amazing friends and memories which we will keep forever. We sincerely thank Mrs Harrigan and Mrs O’Gorman (our mums away from home) for taking us on this trip of a lifetime. Year 12 dance students
