I was inspired by the photos of Rebecca Litchfield and the decay of the buildings she presents in her images.

The photos I have taken capture the decay of man-made structures and how although there is beauty in such things, we leave behind places and objects we no longer need. Through my photos, I aim to highlight these places and their forgotten history. The second image is foreshadowing the darkness presented in the last image. The darkness in the last few images, and especially the last image, represent the dark side of decay and the human need for new and better things, leaving behind the old to decay and be forgotten. The last image represents how everything in life eventually returns to the universe, similar to the Indigenous Australian belief that everything comes from and returns to the land.
