
Year 7 Grandparents Day 2026
St Mary Star of the Sea College warmly invites the grandparents of our Year 7 students to join us for a special morning celebrating the unique and cherished bond between grandparents and their granddaughters.
This much-loved event provides an opportunity for students to share their love of learning, showcase their achievements and talents, and spend quality time with their grandparents in the College community.
Guests will enjoy a variety of activities with their granddaughters, followed by a morning tea prepared by our Hospitality students.

We recognise that not all grandparents may be able to attend. Students will be encouraged to participate alongside friends, ensuring this remains an inclusive celebration of family, learning and community.

Striving Stars – After School Enrichment Program
St Mary Star of the Sea College is proud to introduce Striving Stars, a free after-school enrichment program designed for Year 5 and Year 6 students.
As part of our commitment to strengthening community connections, this program supports students as they prepare for the transition to secondary school through engaging, literacy-focused learning experiences.
Program Overview
Striving Stars is a structured program facilitated by Year 10 & 11 students, under the guidance of experienced teachers as part of their Community Service. The program fosters positive relationships between primary and secondary students while building confidence and a love of learning.
Sessions are interactive and hands-on, focusing on:
- Reading & Comprehension – developing fluency, understanding and critical thinking
- Writing Skills – building creative and analytical writing abilities
- Confidence & Readiness – preparing students for success in high school

Year 12 Formal 2026
The College is delighted to invite our Year 12 students, together with their parents and guardians, to the 2026 Year 12 Formal. This special evening provides an opportunity to celebrate the achievements, friendships, and memories of the graduating class as they approach the conclusion of their secondary education.
The Formal will be held on Wednesday, 11 November 2026, from 6:00 pm to 10:00 pm at University Hall, University of Wollongong. Guests will enjoy canapés, a three-course dinner, and refreshments in a memorable and elegant setting.
As this is a College event, the evening will be alcohol-free for all attendees. Ticket purchases are limited to three per family which includes your daughter, with additional arrangements available for extended family members. The Great St Mary’s Bake Off
Calling all students and staff – it’s time to showcase your baking talents in The Great St Mary’s Bake Off!
Whether you’re known for your delicious cakes, creative slices, or crowd-favourite biscuits, this is your chance to put your skills to the test while supporting a worthy cause. Entries will be judged by industry pastry chefs, with prizes awarded across a range of categories, including a coveted Star Baker Award and the People’s Choice Award.
All baked goods will be sold at lunchtime, with proceeds supporting the WA Breakfast Program. It’s a wonderful opportunity to share your creativity, enjoy some friendly competition, and make a positive difference in our community.
The Bake Off will be held on Wednesday, 20 August (Week 5, Term 3) and is open to all students and staff. Register your entry via the QR code and get ready to bake, share and support!
